LEELA means divine play, and the play treats life as exactly that; a sacred, messy game where nothing is wasted.  Themes of belonging, identity and the stories we inherit run through the piece.

Along the road, poetry becomes Sean’s compass: Shakespeare, John Donne, Wordsworth, Lou Reed and ancient Sanskrit thread through the narrative, offering both provocation and consolation.

The audience is asked what happens when a person stops chasing the approved version of success, and instead treats life with the reverence and respect that it deserves. LEELA asks each of us to fully appreciate and accept our own crooked, hopeful journey through life.
